versatile-blogger-award

Versatile: adjective

1. capable of or adapted for tuning easily from one to another of various tasks, fields of endeavor, etc.: a versatile writer.
2. having or capable of many uses: a versatile tool.
3. Botany – attached at or near the middle so as to swing freely, as an anther.
4. Zoology – turning either forward or backward: a versatile toe.
5. variable or changeable, as in feeling, purpose, or policy: versatile moods.

Not that this definition has anything to do with the award, but most likely, the last definition fit the best here on my blog. You will definitely find a variety of different things on my blog. You probably won’t even have to look that hard to see that!

I would like to thank the Academy…oh wait. Wrong speech. (What was I thinking? I didn’t even watch the Oscars!)

I would like to thank Ponderingspawned, a most awesome and versatile blogger, for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award! So, thanks!

The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Thank and Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. State 7 things about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 bloggers for this award.
5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination by linking to one of their specific posts so that they get notified by ping back.

So how am I doing? Rule 1? Check. It’s here in this post, and will be in my sidebar soon after posting this. Rule 2? Check. (That’s just common courtesy! How sad is it that we need rules to thank someone for giving them an award?) Rule 3? Not yet. Ready? Here goes –

7 things about unremarkable me:

1: I was born in the same city as Little League Baseball. Bonus points to the first person who knows where that is. Hint: It’s also the city that hosts the Little League World Series.

2: I have hiked to the top of the tallest mountain on the East Coast more than once (Mt. Washington, in New Hampshire) and hiked to the top of the second tallest mountain on the East Coast (Mt. Katahdin, in Maine. If this sounds familiar, you probably read my post about my close encounter on the way back down.)

3: I was a featured artist in Ponderingspawned’s World Through Our Eyes project. It is an awesome ongoing and evolving process.

4: I am an Eagle Scout. Mostly thanks to my Mom. (Thanks Mom!)

5: My wife and I have a cat. The most ridiculous cat in the world. He’s very cute. I get to clean up his poop. Every night.

6: I write poetry, but I am also an aspiring fiction writer. I recently started writing flash fiction (mostly at Flash! Friday), and have a couple dozen of story ideas that might have some potential, and am currently in the middle of 3 or so stories.

7: I have seen a UFO. With my own eyes. No, I don’t have any blurry photos or shaky video. And yes, I was alone. No, you don’t have to believe me. I’m not necessarily talking aliens from outer space. It could very well be human beings, I actually believe that to be more likely. But I did see a craft that does not fit with any commonly known airplane or spacecraft (and yes, when I say spacecraft, I mean spacecraft).

Rule 3? Check! Now for Rule 4: Nominating 15 other bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.

And the nominees are, in no particular order: ( I swear I didn’t watch the Oscars!)

1: The Cheeky Diva
2: Leaf and Twig
3: My Teen Writing
4: Andrea’ Fellini’s…
5: maggiemaejustsaythis
6: Awakened Words
7: Flies Over Nebraska
8: The Return of the Modern Philosopher
9: Dragonshades
10: by, J.H. Mae
11: Crows Dream
12: A 19 Planet’s Art Blog 2010/2013
13: The Write Space
14: February Stationary
15: sethsnap

Rules 4 and 5? Check and check!

If any of the above bloggers have already been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award, well, I second the nomination. I hope you all take a minute to check out the awesome and amazing blogs that help inspire me to keep writing and creating!

  1. Congrats on your award, and thank you for nominating my silly little Modern Philosopher blog. I would write a speech, but I’m afraid they’ll play me off with that scary Jaws music… 😉

  2. Truly delighted that you have received this highly appropriate award and very humbled that I have been included on your list amongst some of my favourite Blogs! For no reason that is of any importance I have decided that I will not participate in awards although I am thrilled to bits when I receive one. If that sounds a bit like having your cake and eating it you could be right! I will however go now and visit everyone elses Blog on your list and become an ever faithful follower of yours.
