Time is fluid. Stretchy. Elastic. It speeds up when you want it to slow down, and grinds to a halt when you want it to speed up. It slows down when you go faster, and speeds up when you go slower. It’s probably a good thing that time is so flexible. If something isn’t flexible, it’s rigid. Things that are rigid tend to be fragile. They break. Shatter. Crumble. And if you read comic books or watch Doctor Who, then you know that time breaking is never a good thing.

time and time again
the tide of time ebbs and flows
almost drowning me

time and time again
tide rises as I struggle
ebbs as I stand still
